Adobe® Reader® Security Profiles Standard PDF file
Several documents throughout this Website are available in Portable Document Format, called PDF. These files contain complex documents with graphs, images, and special text that cannot be presented easily through the typical Web browser. Adobe® Reader® is free software that allows everyone from business professionals to home users to easily and reliably view, print, and search PDF files using a variety of platforms and devices. Adobe® Reader® 7.0 download The creator of this file format, Adobe Systems, offers a free viewer so that you can view any PDF file. It is calld Adobe Acrobat Reader. There are versions for a wide variety of computers, operating systems, and languages. You can easily download the program and install it on your computer. Installation instructions are available at the Adobe Systems website.
Password protected file
The standard security provided by PDF consists of two different methods and two different passwords. A PDF document may be protected by password for opening ('user' password) and the document may also specify operations that should be restricted even when the document is decrypted: printing; copying text and graphics out of the document; modifying the document; and adding or modifying text notes and AcroForm fields (using 'owner' password).

Lizard Safeguard Secure PDF Viewer This section explains how customers view protected PDF documents. For a detailed description on using the Safeguard Secure PDF Viewer please refer to the product manual. STEP 1 - Download and Install Lizard Safeguard Secure PDF Viewer The latest software can be downloaded from here. Once downloaded, double-click on the .exe file to install the software.   STEP 2 - Register with Faulkner Press faulknermedia.com will have sent you an email containing your license file. Double-click on the license file (safeguard_v_license.llv) in your email application and select 'Open It' to register with your publisher.   STEP 3 - View the protected PDF documents Once you have registered you can double-click on the PDC file (secured PDF file) in Windows Explorer. If you have not registered a dialog box will be displayed asking for the location of your license file. The protected PDF document is transparently decrypted and displayed in the Viewer. Once registered, any other files protected for you in the future will be transparently decrypted and displayed in Adobe Reader - this process is totally transparent - you won't even realize they are encrypted. Decryption keys are transparently relayed to the client computer if you have been given access to view a protected document. If you do not have access to a document then a dialog box will be displayed with the publisher contact details and you will not be able to view the protected PDF document.
