Course Software

The Classroom Companion™ CD-ROM for Macintosh and Windows is an interactive CD-ROM presentation of course related material for college and university students. This application provides you with educational material pertaining to your specific selection.

The Classroom Companion™ CD-ROM package consists of at least 3 items:

1. Program Disk(s)
2. Important Information Card
3. Electronic Users Manual Document (Some packages may contain additional material)

Every Classroom Companion™ CD-ROM includes both Macintosh and Windows versions of the application.

The installation process creates a folder named "ClassCD Material" on your computer, then copies the necessary program files from the CD to that folder. Any work that you complete while using the Classroom Companion™ CD-ROM will be stored in the ClassCD Material folder on your computer's hard drive.

The presentation window displays lecture slides, audio/video segments, animation, or interactive graphics selected by your professor to teach the fundamental principles of your specific course.

Current Messages allows the professor to send messages to all of the students in the class. Links to Online Exercise codes and online grades are posted here. The notepad window is a utility for students to enter their own notes for class lecture slides.

The Classroom Companion™ search window can find a desired topic or phrase. Type the search topic into the "Keyword" query box, choose the categories you want to search by clicking the box next to the appropriate item and the program application will then search the categories you selected for the keyword you entered in the query box. If you select "internet" the application will display the results of your search in your web browser. Selected work can be sent to the professor through the Send window.

The Library section contains reference material used by the professor to illustrate important concepts of your class. Possible reference material includes indexes, selected readings, module details, lecture outlines, seminar themes, study units on various topics, contacts to your university areas, bibliographic information, links to internet resources, etc. The Activity Window includes educational activities that have been created by your professor. These items include module details, lecture outlines, seminar themes, selected readings on important topics, assessment exercises, bibliographic information, and links to other internet resources. The export to notepad button will send the text of the activity window to the Notepad window.

The Assessment section contains interactive practice activities that test your knowledge of concepts covered in the class material. Assessment items include practice test banks interactive activities and access to online exercises. The choice questions section contains multiple choice questions that students can answer for practice. When the text to speech button is selected, the text in the activity window will be read to the student.
